Coming from a producing background, Italian screenwriter David Barbeschi doesn't describe himself as an artist, but as an "engineer for scripts." After judging for international film festivals - including in New York and Switzerland - he now develops screenplays from his office in Burbank, California. Writing credits include:

• Multiple globally-praised short films like “PAWNS” (2017), an award-winning period drama which screened in over 30 film festivals and earned 2 million views on YouTube, and “Lollie", finalist of the 2025 Hollyshorts Film Festival.

• Screenplays with top placements in prestigious script competitions like The Academy Nicholl Fellowship and the Nashville Film Festival, including his feature “Yatra”, ranked #10 out of 1,839 Fantasy Feature scripts, in 2025.

• The dramedy feature film he co-wrote and co-produced, “The Big Rant” (available to watch on Amazon Prime).
